Standard 6
Educators have a broad knowledge base and understand subject areas they teach
I completed three practicums. I taught kindergarten/grade one at Arrowview Elementary, kindergarten at Cilaire and grade three at Uplands Park Elementary. During these practicums, I continuously improved instruction methods, implement assessment for learning, worked in partnership with instructors, used a variety of technology resources, completed an inquiry project on RTI, developed lesson plans that promote hands-on learning, instructed MindUp curriculum, organized school wide community events, collaborated with parents and incorporated Aboriginal education curriculum into lesson plans.
In 2014 enrolled in French conversation and core French classes at the University of Quebec, Boreal College, Vancouver Island University and Wentworth Court Language Center. I volunteered in a French immersion class at Ecole Davis Road and became a member of Association Provinciale des Professeurs d'Immersion et du Programme Francophone.
In the Fall 2014 September semester, I enrolled in additional French classes at VIU and Wentworth Language School. French teachers are in demand in British Columbia and my goal is to meet the needs of students, parents and the school board.
