In Summary:
Based on the reading and writing options of this program, this tool can be useful for an entire class as well as meeting the needs of
individual learners. The program meets the needs of the entire class by providing a basic writing tool where the user can brainstorm how to organize content, build sentences with the assistance of word banks and audio tools and help to edit document with a text-to-speech option. Some of my favourite tools in this program are the range of audio voices, the dyslexic friendly font, and the ease in which word banks can be created and shared.
For the individual learner, the Sentence Set and Connect Set functions can help emergent readers. It allows user to practice sentence construction and allows a teacher to edit program as the student progresses. In addition to writing tools, Clicker 7 also provides teachers will the tools to create audio/visual books. I would use this feature to help students practice specific vocabulary.
This program also caters to low vision students who require text to be enlarged.
